NoMI Kitchen Restaurant Review

This Park Hyatt Chicago restaurant is a more approachable, casual version of its former self, offering seasonal cuisine, cool cocktails and fine wines. The dining room’s sought-after tables next to the floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking Michigan Avenue continue to symbolize NoMI’s reputation as a romantic destination, while other elegant touches like leather-bound menus keep the...

You can "relax and get away from the loudness of the city" at this "expensive" but "worth it" New American in the Gold Coast's Park Hyatt where local ingredients feature heavily on the "fantastic" menu, which includes "incredibly fresh" sushi too; the upscale-casual space with "beautiful views" overlooking Michigan Avenue and a "delightful" roof garden works well for "date night" or "business...

Ohio House to Shutter; Popup at Le Bouchon

RIVER NORTH—Ohio House Coffee Shop, a relic to River North's past, is shuttering at the end of the month. The diner, which has stood for over 50 years, will become a chain coffee shop. [Crain's]

WICKER PARK—Scott Jambrosek and Oliver Poilevey are hosting another popup at Le Bouchon (1958 N. Damen) on April 21. The focus is "spring lamb," six courses include quail stuffed with merguez, quinoa...

Guildhall Coming to Glencoe in Mid-March

Look out North Shore, there's a big new concept coming. A group of four big Glencoe businessmen, including Homemade Pizza CEO Eric Fosse and led by Phil Marienthal, are opening Guildhall in the middle of March. There's also a big chef attached—Christian Ragano, formerly of Tru and NoMI Kitchen. Marienthal describes the cuisine as "seasonal American" with touches of international influences....

Antique Taco Announces New Charity Taco

Antique Taco's Guest Chef Series is back for February. This month's taco is designed by NoMI Kitchen executive chef Ryan LaRoche, appropriately dubbed the PharRoche-ous taco, combining LaRoche's name with chef de cuisine's Sean Pharr's. $2 from the sale of each taco will go to Imerman Angels, which pairs a cancer fighter or survivor with someone who has fought and survived the same cancer. The...

I had read reviews that gave the food great reviews, but the service less than stellar marks. Sadly, this night nothing was up to the expected level or price point - with the exception of the cocktails.

First time in this restaurant. Wonderful food and service. The waiter gave us a window table for dessert which was very special. Will book for my birthday in March. Hope to get a table by the window. Many thanks.

Nomi has the best service and food. We absolutely don't mind driving 1 1/2 to get there. The sushi is always amazing. The main course was beyond delicious. The dessert was so beautifully executed. This is truly a remarkable restaurant. 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Only complaint is that they should use table cloths.

Tips about this business (3)

Know Before You Go: When the weather is nice, grab a light bite and a cocktail at the lush outdoor garden terrace. It offers sweeping views of the city and makes for a lovely afternoon or evening out.

The Extras: Save room: Just when you think dinner is over, the waiter presents a decorative silver box filled with caramels, macaroons and other assortments. The macaroons are irresistible.

Where to Sit: If you can, request a seat in the front of the dining room near the windows for the best view.
