Funny, we never call it by its real name, its always just the porch of the National to us. We've spent many hours here lunching or snacking, mostly drinking gin & tonics and watching the ferries come and go and the flags snap in the breeze. Its a great place for the family to reconvene or make a home base...

Off season. A perfect time to enjoy the delights of uncrowded Island, Rhode Island. We had booked 3 nights and were given an ocean front room with two double beds as an upgrade as well as a free night's stay. The value was exceptional. We have enjoyed many stays at the National. The staff is friendly, helpful and caring. The food is always great and we LOVE the chowder. The rooms are clean and comfortable ( we even have a favorite room !!). The location is superb and time spent at the firepit is always enjoyable and the view from the front porch is...
