Even though we visit the Jeffferson area quite often, we never tire of visiting the museum. The old courthouse location is wonderful and you can just feel the history there. All the rooms with displays are set up to grab your interest, and the staff is very knowledgeable. We also love the gift shop, but the Creeper Trail diorama is...
I wasn't expecting much when I first visited the museum but I was very impressed! The staff members were supper friendly, helpful, and knowledgable about everything in the museum. Don't pass this up, it's fantastic!
This was a very pleasant find! Unlike many little local museums, this has many well presented displays about the history of the general area, not just the county. I expected to buzz it in a few minutes, but spent over an hour and would have enjoyed staying longer. Admission free, donations welcome.
