Monocacy Crossing is tucked away in the deepest part of Maryland farm country. But folks will find downtown-quality fare at remarkably reasonable prices, from the crusty, just-baked sourdough to the warm caramel sauce drizzled over apples. One may encounter red miso salmon on purple sticky rice with a hint of ginger in the sauce. Follow it with Mississippi mud cake or coconut pound cake. Scan...
"Don't let the outside appearance fool you" say Frederick denizens who laud the "fabulous", "innovative" American cuisine (whiskey duck nachos are "out of this world") "elegantly" served at this "unassuming"-looking "farmhouse" on a "country road"; "strong" drinks and somewhat "expensive" tabs make this "simply" decorated "rustic gem" worthy of an "adult-only date night."
When a young Culinary Institute of America-trained chef sets himself up in a converted farmhouse in the Maryland countryside---and pays really close attention to such details as good napkins, a decent wine list, and house-curing his own…
Just ate Valentine's dinner! My husband and I began with the fried deviled egg with lump crab appetizer. Absolutely scrumptious! I had the seafood special, fried shrimp and scallops in a roasted herb cream sauce over tagliatelle. Loved it! Pasta fresh and al dente, and the sauce extremely flavorful. The addition of spinach very nice! My husband had one of his favorites here, the New York strip...
We always enjoy coming here. It is my wife's favorite restaurant and would recommend it to all our friends.
Love their menu. The crispy deviled eggs with crab were out of this world!
First time trying Monocacy Crossing, thanks to Open Table reviews. We were very pleased with the entire experience. The food was wonderful. I tried the beef medallions which were cooked to perfection and my husband had the shrimp and sausage etoufee, spicy, flavorful and a unique twist on the traditional. Save room for dessert, the coconut pound cake was beyond great. The place is cozy, casual...
This is an excellent up scale restaurant for special occasions. The food is great, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is very romantic. Prices obviously will be higher than crummy chain restaurants, but I felt for the category this restaurant is in, the price was great (1 app, 2 entrees, 1 glass of wine, 1 coffee, 1 tea and 2 desserts for $75, not including tip). On our list to come back.

Located on the outskirts of the city, accessibility is not one of Monocacy Crossing's strong points. But the restaurants popularity proves that people are willing to make an effort and travel the distance for a good dining experience. It would be quite easy to mistake the cozy looking house in which the restaurant sits, for a private residence if not for the prominent sign up front. Enter...
