Since 1989, Mimmas Cafe has been a Milwaukee destination for delicious Italian cuisine and an authentic Italian dining experience . Mimma's menu is a celebration of food from all regions of Italy, from Sicily to Tuscany, taking diners on a romantic journey through some of it's most flavorful culinary traditions.
This café is northeast of downtown in a clapboard building dating from 1890; inside are columns and walls sponge-painted in subtle hues. The kitchen prepares recipes from northern Italy to Sicily, including some 50 different pasta dishes.
We had a party of 6-each ordered different meals and everyone enjoyed the food. Our waiter had been there 20 years & was super friendly and casual. I had not been there for many years-so nice that the restaurant is as nice as i remembered it. What a gem!
I loved everything about the place. Food was excellent; restaurant was very tasteful. Will definitely return!

Went to Mimma's on a Monday night with a party of three. Restaurant was almost entirely empty with only two or three other tables occupied our entire time there. With the exception of the hostess, service was excruciatingly slow at every turn . . . drinks, food and check.
