After nearly a decade wielding the whisks and knives at the classic downtown Portland French bistro Carafe, Pascal Sauton was ready for a change. He's found one with this industrial chic cafe/wine bar/fancy grocery shop/bakery/etc. located in some hopeful new construction in downtown Milwaukie. Stop in for a lunchtime sandwich, breakfast croissant, or a kir and a cookie in the afternoon. You can also pickup an elegant dinner to go or sign up for a cooking class or wine tasting. This resturant is now closed and has reopened by Cindy and friend as Woodpecker Pizza which is very good.
This cafe-meets-wine-shop-meets-grocery-store-meets-cooking-school sets the bar pretty high for a neighborhood one-stop shop. The recently-launched weekend brunch shouldn't be missed.
