Ever had mochi + gelato (AKA mochilato)? If you haven't, stop by Mikawaya and try it out today! My favorite flavors are strawberry, green tea and chocolate hazelnut. And be sure to buy their homemade mochi too!

Mochi ice cream distributor has a free standing store in little Tokyo where they make fresh mochi ice cream with flavors you can't find in their packaged goods from the market.

$1.00 mochi ice cream served by the people who invented this creation. Added bonus is the selection of gelato at this location!

Editorial Review

With a tagline that boasts the ""finest name in Japanese pastries since 1910,"" this J-Town sweet shop is where neighborhood regulars and tourists go for fresh batches of the famed mochi dessert.

This place ruined store bought noodles for me. I can't eat them any longer so anytime I feel the need for Ramen I hop in my car and make the two hour drive to LA to eat here. I absolutely love this place. I go so often the parking attendant across the street knows me. I highly recommend visiting when ever you are in the area.
