A perennial favorite among locals (the wait is worth it), Mi Nidito—"my little nest"—has also hosted its share of visiting celebrities. Following President Clinton's lunch here, the rather hefty Presidential Plate (bean tostada, taco with barbecued meat, chiles rellenos, chicken enchilada, and beef tamale with rice and beans) was added to the menu. Top that off with the mango chimichangas for...

The Scene
When Bill Clinton ate here in 1999, he was the first person in years who didn't have to wait for a table. Plenty of people have waited up to two hours to sit in this adobe with its dark tables, brick and tiled archways… Read More

I read on another Trip Advisor review that Mi Nidito's rellenos were 5 star. They aren't, folks. They aren't even close.
I ordered a relleno plate. The pepper was somewhat meaty which was good compared to all of the others I've tried. The plate of food looked like a plate of slop. The beans were nothing special, the rice was...

We met friends here for lunch on their recommendation. The wait was 45 minutes, but the weather was nice enough to be outside comfortably. The menu is very Sonoran, with selections unfamiliar to us (Tex-Mex fans). I tried Carne Seca and my husband had a combo plate of some kind. The tortillas are the HUGE kind that you tear to...

We found out about Mi Nidito from a docent working at the art museum. A good neighborhood Tex-Mex on the south side, it draws huge crowds and usually requires a wait. Get a drink from behind the cashier and wait in line with everyone else. The food is pretty much above-average American Mexican fare but the service is very efficient...

We had an early dinner at Mi Nidito. This restaurant is really popular and has great food. We got there about 4:30 in the afternoon and there was already a short wait.
I didn't feel I could handle Bill Clinton's famous President's Plate, so I settled on the Flat - Old Fashioned Handmade Enchiladas. They were great!
The décor is...
