We took our car in for an oil change. They said the rear main seal was leaking (big repair). We took the car to another shop and they showed the leak was coming from the oil filter cap. They said it was obvious that it was not coming from the rear main seal. I was concerned about this mistake, so I called the manager at Meineke. He was very rude. I told him that I just wanted to let him know so he could prevent it from happening again. He argued about how the other shop found the mistake, said he did 60 oil changes a week and did not need my business, and condescendingly, told me he was glad I found a shop that made me happy. He said he did not need to talk anymore and hung up on me, while I was politely trying to talk to him. We then learned that the cap comes attached to the oil filter. Our car was leaking before and after the oil change. It is unlikely that two oil caps would have a hole, so I believe they did not change the oil filter, which we were charged for and is standard on an oil change. I am extremely disappointed in the actions of this business owner and dishonesty of his business. I will not be returning to Meineke in the future.
