Help us make it rightIt's official: You can now drink beer and wine at Mei Mei. The restaurant announced the good news last night on Facebook, starting by pouring a couple reds and a couple whites "as the rest of the product starts rolling in."
It's been quite a carnivorous week, and now it's time for The Five Days of Meat to end. We're going out on a sweet note with this map of desserts that contain meat — mostly bacon, but there are a couple of foie gras options as well.
For The Five Days of Meat, here's Irene Li and Max Hull on how they see the role of meat changing, why a little Portlandia-style questioning isn't necessarily a bad thing, and more.
In honor of The Five Days of Meat, we've asked Boston food and drink personnel a variety of meat-related questions, and we'll share their responses throughout the week. Earlier today, we looked at chefs' favorite under-appreciated cuts of meat. Now, here they are on their favorite cuts of meat overall, from ribeye and spinalis to pork belly and pork shoulder. Between school, work, and perfectionism, I don’t have time write about one category as much as I would like,...
Lunch Menu Double awesome ($7): delicious runny eggs oozing everywhere with cheese and pesto sauce, with that soy aioli and sriarcha on backup If cornbread and hushpuppies made sweet sweet love and came out with a litter of perfectly fried babies that were greater than the sum of their parts, meet the Sweet Corn Fritters with a sriracha aioli ($4).

Even though dinner at Mei Mei can add up, it's a great place for a cheap lunch. Dishes start at $7 for lunch and they use as much ingredients from local farm and producers as they can. Their most popular item is the Double Awesome which is a scallion pancake sandwich with pesto, Vermont cheddar, and runny fried eggs! If you can splurge a bit more, I would add bacon for $2.50. Even without bacon...
