"If you love to dance your freaking pants off and drink cheap beers", then this cavelike basement club in Center City might just be the "crazy party spot" for you; graffiti-covered walls and an "always good" mix of DJ-spun music add to the "do-whatever-you-want" proceedings.
Medusa Lounge is an average bar with a strong hipster vibe. The music is not danceable and the people there are not so keen on dancing usually. I usually feel awkward every time I go unless I'm under the influence. The good news is that the drinks are very simple and cheap. I'm sure some nights are better than others, so I'd check in with regulars to see which nights the place is happening.
Don't dress nice. It's too dark to see clearly and to sweaty nasty for any respectable garments. That said I frikin have the best time every time I visit medusa. Dancing is easy in this underground atmosphere. Nothing smobby about this place and the people reflect that.
Sometimes, you're not in the mood for clean and refined fun. For those times, there's Medusa Lounge. The basement club is dark, hot and packed with sweaty bodies grinding the night away.
