This establishment opened in 1925 and played host to the Inaugural Ball of Calvin Coolidge. Additionally, it lays claim to being the home of FDR in the days preceding his move into the White House. The block-long lobby boasts a lovely… Read More

There's "plenty of history" at this longtime host of presidents (and a few of their mistresses), a "venerable" circa-1925 landmark that "impresses" with an "extremely attentive" staff and "grand" public spaces; a few critics grumble the "stately experience ends at the lobby" because of "aging" guestrooms, and others warn you'll "reach deep into your pocket", but fans maintain it's "worth every...

Nice lobby, average rooms

Walking into the lobby is a nice experience, and the location was exactly where we needed it to be. However, the room was so small that we had trouble getting in and out of bed with a suitcase in the room. It was the single smallest hotel room I've ever been in. The room was clean, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Upon arrival after a long day, I was told that the hotel was overbooked and they had no rooms available. And yet as I was standing at the front desk they were clearly checking in other people. When I asked why, the front desk manager told me that they always cancel their Expedia reservations first because doing so saves the hotel money! The other guests who got rooms had booked directly. I...

I found the valet staff fantastic the check in staff great but the room was average and the club level staff were awful..upgrading to this level isn't worth it. They were consistently out of food the waiters and servers all were rude and playing on the computer the...

This hotel isn't what is used to be. The facilities are fine and we'll maintained. The rooms are updated and reasonably sized. There are two significant issues however:
1) there is a large trash compactor on one side of the hotel that was operated every night in the 3am to 5am hours. Our room was on the tenth floor and...

The Mayflower Hotel has the bones of a traditional old hotel, but it looks like somebody dropped acid and redecorated. It's clean and fresh, but it's pretty zany--a very poor attempt of incorporating the old with the new. The vintage lighting is so pretty but the curtains are skimpy, the wrong color and clash with the horrid, giant modern, ugly...
