Drew Nieporent has this Vietnamese restaurant on the same block as his Tribeca Grill along with Michael Huynh of Bao Noodles, located only a few blocks west of the major Vietnamese players on Baxter Street. Think: Tribeca version of the Chinatown Brasserie circus plus fancy cocktails. Head east to Baxter Street for authenticity while singing "P-Funk is playing at Mai House."

Retro-infused Tribeca eatery dishes out Vietnamese fusion and out-of-this-world cocktails.

Mai house is Vietnamese chic presented Tribeca style. The interior is decked with mother—of—pearl lamps and intricate wooden lattices. The room has a 70s era vibe with armless chairs and wood panels all around. Haute Vietnamese flavors fire up the cuisine with the deep, beefy pho and the subtle Dungeness crab. The real star here is the home made ice—cream which is just sublime. The drink list...
