Madfish

I almost don't know where to begin in describing this dining debacle.  I will first say that my companions and I based our decision to check out Madfish for dinner predominately upon the excellent experiences we've had at her sister restos (1200° Chophouse and Snapper's Sea Grill, both also located on St. Pete Beach).  In retrospect, I have my suspicions that Madfish may be an adopted sibling...

"MadFish is a casual, upscale (?) St. Pete Beach retrofit diner" at 5200 Gulf Boulevard. That is about the best I can report about MadFish except for our server Andre. He was terrific! He tried his best to promote the restaurant while not alluding to the fact that the food was far less than stellar. I can't remember when the Piglet Parade has been so disappointed with any restaurant.

Not good not bad just ehh, definitely not worth the prices they charge. There are way better places that I would go before I head back to this one.

Great place. Service was good. Waiter was friendly and informative. Mussels were good. They added Parmesan topping which I've never had but was great. The olive topping for the bread was really tasty. The gouper sandwich was awesome. Done just right and so flavorful with out the usual toppings other places use to mask it.

Just finished having dinner at MadFish. I had the early bird Grouper Piccata, it was very good and came with a wonderful salad and Key Lime pie square. This restaurant has a very good early bird menu. All the dinners around us looked very good. Good food and good service. This is a retro train car diner. There are salt water fish tanks above the bar and a tin ceiling. There are a few bar stools and booths along the windows with tables running down the center. It really does feel like you are inside a train, but you would never know it by the food that it prepares. The wonderful menu has favorites like miso snapper and gulf grouper oscar.
