Editorial reviews from the web (2)

Chicagoans are crying foul over the loss of Jerry's Sandwiches in the West Loop, but husband-and-wife owners Mark Bires and Mindy Friedler are hoping their New Orleans-influenced shop taking its place will ease everyone's pain (and their wallets). Offering cheaper food is always a good thing, as is a traditional Big Easy menu of muffuletta sandwiches, alligator sausage, fried green tomatoes,...

Citysearch Editorial Review

This West Loop spot culls the best of the Big Easy, from the decor with authentic Mardi Gras masks, beads and posters that deck the 40-seat dining room to the menu, with items such as fried oysters...

Is this place still open? Decent attempt at New Orleans style food. Po-boys are alright. Would return but I thought it closed.

Only open for lunch from 11am - 3:30pm

I just finished an entire of the Mac n Cheese before I even touched my sandwich. It's delish

They have great soups that change daily. Get the gumbo! Alligator sausage and crab is a great one.

new review

fast service, food was great. Fried Green Tomatos were the bomb and dipping sauce. Two much bread in the shrimp po boy. after removing 1/2 the bread the po boy became much better and the sauce again was great and spicy.... will plan to eat tehir again and reorder the grenn tomatos... Mac and Cheese was ok, not the chasang.....plan to go again soon with more friends...

Business description (1)

A po boy shop in the tradition of New Orleans po boy shops, playing WWOZ most of the time. BYOB.

Tips about this business (3)

The Extras

Esteemed West Town bakery La Farine whips up the po'boy buns (with crusty outsides and soft and chewy insides) especially for Mac and Min's.

Know Before You Go

Vegetarians will be pleased to find a long list of salads and meatless po'boys with portabella or fried green tomatoes.

Save Time

West Loop lunchers pack the place on weekdays. To avoid the crowd, fax in your order for pick-up or delivery. If you're driving, park in the 15-minute standing zone just outside the restaurant.
