My favorite restaurant in Hampton Roads

Luna Maya is probably my favorite restaurant in Norfolk. Their thoughtfully prepared dishes stand head and shoulders above other Mexican-type food in the area (though technically, it's Bolivian). Drinks are great. I'd recommend the guacamole and salsa as an appetizer. I get the shrimp tacos for dinner. Though I wish they were a little cheaper, they're still worth every penny.

The ambiance is very cool. It's best for a date but works well for small groups too. Dim lighting and music make it feel very trendy and "big city."

Luna Maya Restaurant Review

Sisters Karla and Vivian Montano, originally from Bolivia, work their magic with Mexican food at Luna Maya in a way that conjures up that sensuous book and movie, “Like Water for Chocolate.” The restaurant's vibe is uptown hip, but what sets this place apart is fresh, creative fare. For starters, we suggest the guacamole, or try habanero shrimp sautéed with guajillo chile sauce and served with...

All I can say is AMAZING! I was so surprised how much I enjoyed Luna Maya. I typically stay away from Mexican food because I feel it is not worth the price, but this is a total exception. Both...

I'm going to make it simple and neat. I thought the entire place was amazing. The decor was quite interesting. I feel like it used to be an old warehouse and was renovated. I love the idea of...

A small and colorful gourmet Mexican restaurant that is run by two Bolivian sisters and features a menu where everything is made-from-scratch, including the sangria and margaritas. They are open Tuesday through Saturday for dinner only; closed on Mondays and Sundays.
