Located on 7th Street, Luke's Lobster brings the East Village a taste of Maine. This tiny little take out joint with a few stools is all about lobster and a couple of other crustaceans. However, the lobster roll is the standard upon which to compare anything else. It's small, but tasty and comes with chips, a pickle and a soda. The portions may be small, but the freshness and quality are worth...
It doesn't take a master chef to make a great lobster roll. It takes great lobster. Luke Holden knows where to get the best stuff around... Holden was born and raised in Cape Elizabeth, a small town on the coast of Maine. He grew up lobstering, built his own skiff, and launched a lobster company while still in high school. When Luke moved to New York to work in finance, he was dismayed to see...
Here's a look around the massive seventh location of Luke's Lobster, which opens in Midtown for lunch today. The restaurant has entrances on both 43rd and 44th streets, and is set back in a small park on the 44th Street side, which includes a few small trees, a waterfall, and tables and chairs for al fresco dining. Inside, the space is clean but rustic, with cement floors, nautical themed...
New Amsterdam Market, the long-running outdoor food market at South Street Seaport, has come to an end after nine years. In a note to supporters, founder Robert LaValva writes: "I was never able to raise the funding or attract the influential backers needed for our organization to thrive. Furthermore, we were dealt a mortal blow in 2013 when Council Member [Margaret] Chin, who had long...

As rumored, Luke's Lobster is indeed planning a new outpost in Midtown. The rapidly expanding seafood roll specialist currently has outposts in the Lower East Side, the FiDi, Brooklyn, and the Upper East and West Sides, but its only presence in Midtown up until now has been a food truck.
Rapidly expanding seafood roll chain Luke's Lobster is opening a Park Slope outpost come spring. Owners Luke Holden and Ben Conniff have been on the hunt for a space since September, and have now signed the lease at 237 Fifth Avenue. The new space, which is currently behind a lot of plywood, has room for a backyard, and will serve the same simple menu of shrimp, crab, and Maine lobster rolls.

This place was recommended by the folks at our hotel and it did not disappoint. The bread was just perfect and the seafood amazing. We tried the trio, but the lobster was the best and I wished I’d just gotten a large lobster roll. The...
We went to Luke's Lobster NYC and enjoyed the delicious food. Although the portions are a bit small, the food, service and setting are worthwhile.
My husband and I ate at Luke’s Lobster almost 3 months ago and still talk about how good it was at least once a week. The lobster rolls were out of this world! The lobster was so fresh and was probably some of the best...

We make our rolls Maine-style! The seafood is served *chilled* atop a buttered and toasted New England-style, split-top bun with a swipe of mayo, a sprinkle of lemon butter and a dash of secret spices. (Rolls can be made with no mayo, butter or spices -- just ask!) Luke's Lobster opened in October 2009, born of ex-lobsterman Luke Holden's undying passion for all things Maine. Luke gets his...
