I love the table bread - it's a focaccia topped with olive oil and onions. Seriously, I could make a meal out of that alone!
Louise's has reasonably priced menu items; I like the lasagna and the pasta specials with seafood (usually shrimp). The main competition is Mi PIace across the street, and while it's not quite as fancy, I feel it's a nice enough for a date but still not too pretentious to set you back too much money.
"Reliable, but not exciting" Cal-Italian fare gets a lift from the "addictive" complimentary focaccia at this "comfortable" SoCal chain offering just "enough choices to keep your interest" and "friendly" service; critics who are "not terribly impressed" claim "nothing stands out" except for the budget-friendly bills.
