This place is a classic! One of a dying breed. No, it's not fancy and up-scale, I guess I'm just old and whacky but we love this place and have for years! You know what you're getting when you go to Bertola's; the menu is all right there, printed on

30... What a great way to spend a Friday or Saturday night! This is not the original location but Louie Bertola's is a Bay Area institution. Better check it out before they replace it with an Applebee's; ugh!

I have loved Bertola's for many years, but when I was treated to dinner for my birthday a couple days ago, it seemed so different. The waiter was sassy with an attitude. At a glance it seemed like I was turning back the pages of time walking up to the Martinez Bertola's location. Walking up...

Bertola's has a long history in the East Bay. Read all of the reviews and many seem to be written by stuck-up jerks. If you want a 5-Star restaurant, find one and spend $70-80 for dinner. If you want a fun experience with real people, go to Bertola's in downtown Martinez. The food and the service are very good and consistent. We usually have the prime rib and for the price you cannot beat it. A...

The food is just ok. I think Mac's Old House in Antioch is better. Same type of place. If Bertola's upped their game a little I'd go more often.
