Local Root is a fabulous neighborhood restaurant, where the Hosts and Servers go above and beyond to make your visit warm and welcoming. The smells of warm bread, bacon, maple syrup all add to the homey and neighborhoody feeling. While your there, be sure to have a Bloody Mary or Mimosa with your brunch/lunch.

The restaurant was empty. The appetizer was good. The pork chop was too dry. The waiter was very nice and helpful. The jazz music was very repetitive. I didn't care for it.

We needed a place to eat before we walked to Navy Pier to catch a play. Local Root was great. Food interesting, delicious and satisfying, portions perfect, servers excellent, and a well stocked bar. We had a great time given th time we had.
