Gorgeous appetizers set the tone for meat-centric, down-home, but nuanced entrees. Try the Empanada Don Walter made with tender chunks of beef, eggs and raisins in a blistery-crunchy crust with whole perfectly-steamed shrimp in a romesco sauce. The Lomo Saltado has lean slices of beef, onions and tomatoes, expertly seasoned and served aside a mound of fluffy rice to soak up the savory juices....

Limon Rotisserie Restaurant Review

Longtime devotees of Latin food join the newly converted to pack this upscale, welcoming spot. Sit down and order some sangría: it may take some time to peruse the menu. To start, we recommend the platter piled high with ceviche of halibut, mussels and calamari and topped with pozole and crispy corn nuts, or the flaky empanadas stuffed with a tender mix of beef, eggs and raisins. A tamal...

Wallpaper-magazine sleek, with a bracing lime-green exterior and muted orange walls within, this spare, smallish space would be right at home in the hip enclaves of Barcelona or...

Food and drinks are more than decent, although portion sizes are small meaning I had to hit up a taco stand on the late night creep to make sure I went to bed on a full stomach. God bless The Mission.

Service was well below average. We were asked to leave before we finished our last round of drinks because a "local sports team" needed our table. The owner made shallow efforts to compensate us....

The menu has some excellent quality items like the Ceviche, rice & beans, and whole/half roast chicken of course. Cocktails are very good. Noise is high but that forces everyone to interact with more energy, which is great!

The food was amazing!!!! My favorite was the pulpo a la plancha. The service was a bit rushed probably because we were one of the last reso's.

Tips about this business (5)

Know Before You Go

Limon's lunch service isn't up and running yet, but it should be in the next few months.

What to Drink

Order a bottle of the Inca Blue. It's an in-house brew of the beverage better known as chicha morada, a blend of purple corn, spices, and fruit.

Where to Sit

For the casual beverage and appetizers, a seat at the far end of the "bar" is the way to go.

Look Good

It's a bold move for sure, but go ahead and order the grilled octopus. Yeah, the upright tentacles can be a little creepy, but oh so delicious.

Fun Fact

When Limon burned down in May 2008, Castillo's mom opened a Limon in Fresno, CA. Lucky bastards!
