The venue, which opened in March 2007, offers upscale tapas-style dining as well as refined takes on classic bar foods, and the drink menu presents guests with selections that surely will please any and every palate. Add to it a friendly, eager-to-please wait staff and some truly outstanding happy hour deals, and this...

Light Bistro Restaurant Review

Light Bistro balances small-plate options with more hearty main dishes, and with chef Matthew Mathlage behind the line, regional and seasonal concepts are the focus. Start with the honey ham and cheddar croquettes served with a smooth, rich romesco sauce. Follow with the albondigas pizza, and don’t miss the gnocchi with kale and the Ohio rib-eye. The nightly chef’s tasting menu highlights the...

French-trained chef plus American cuisine equals a pleasure for the palate.

The Scene

Drew was a great bartender very nice and personable to two weary travelers. He made great drinks and gave great advise on the appetizers which were wonderful. Can't wait to go back and have dinner.

Interesting bar drinks, unusual appetizers, and one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. Wait staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. Would highly recommend for a casual dinner.

The room is stunning in its scale and detail. The service was excellent, the server was observant without be intrusive. The wait time for food was minimal and it was just the right temperature. The food was original especially the appetizers, the four of us split two entries after each having an appetizer. The deserts were nothing to crave for...

Light Bistro is a decidedly upscale dining experience in Ohio City. Take in the chic atmosphere at the bar during happy hour, or share a tapas spread with a loved one in the more tranquil dining room. The dinner menu features an eclectic mix of contemporary American entrées such as pheasant, grilled ostrich and smoked Kobe hanger steak, while lunchtime fare includes a number of specialty...

Light Bistro in Ohio City offers tapas-style fine dining. There are several entrées, although they're intended to be shared amongst the diners. The menu offers “traditional” tapas, such as Potato, Onion, and Carrot Croquettes or Bacon-Wrapped Dates stuffed with almonds and cheese. There are also “Progressive American Tapas,” such as a Potato and Saffron Omelette with Barbecued Salmon, or the...

Know Before You Go

You'll never know precisely what will make the dessert menu, but chances are the freshest berries available will turn up in souffles and custards. Skip the appetizers and save room for the sweet stuff.
