The historic Lenox Lounge has been in the Harlem community since 1939, serving as the back drop for many jazz legends such as Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, and John Coltrane. The Jazz Club also known as the Zebra Room was once used by the Harlem Renaissance writes James Baldwin and Langston Hughes. It was also said to be a hangout for Malcolm X.

Almost lost to the changing Jazz scene, the Lenox...

IN PREVIEW. Malcolm hung here, as did Billie, Miles, and Coltrane. Original '30s Art Deco splendor recreated in new, second location. Gorgeous tile, banquets, and a baby grand make the Zebra Room one of the most refined spaces around. Find a dark corner, settle in, and take care of business.

This frozen-in-time classic lounge is a symbol of Harlem’s history and renaissance. The intimate, Art Deco–cool back room—complete with zebra stripes on the walls and built-in banquettes—hosts top-flight live jazz vocalists, trios, and quartets. Blues and R&B are the province of Thursday. The cover ranges up to $25, usually with a $16 bar minimum, and there’s a local bar upfront that may make...

Lenox lounge is closed?!? Richard Notar is turning the spot into Notar Jazz Club.... *side-eye*

jazz aficionados pay their respects and come for the open jams. Door cover can break the bank So grab a wicked martini. You'll do devilish things after that. Food is mediocre. Perfect tourist trap

That's it. History lived.

This is a (relatively) untouched piece of NY Jazz history. There's music on every night. Even the resident guys on Monday nights are great (check out the drummer). Things hot up after 11,but if you want an early night you can still get some good music in early(9:30 start). You can eat out front in the bar or sit out...

The Lenox Lounge is not worth visiting. There are so many clubs with better music, atmosphere and service. You will regret wasting your time on this place. None of the locals I know who frequent the jazz bars ever go to the Lenox Lounge.
I went to the Lenox Lounge 2 times too many. The atmosphere and service is very...

Take “a trip back in time” to this “old Harlem haunt”, a vintage-1939 jazz club where legends like Billie Holiday and Miles Davis once performed; nowadays, it draws an “interesting crowd” with its “nice looks” and “smooth performances” in its “historic Zebra Room.”
