Where Obama Has Ordered a Burger in D.C.

The President's visit to Shake Shack earlier today convinced Eater it's time to update our guide to the Obama family's burger eating in D.C. Obama is not exactly known for variety when it comes to his restaurant meal orders — if there's a burger on the menu, chances are he'll order it.

This map focuses on burgers ordered by the President himself, but the First Lady has also consumed burgers at...

Epic Easter Desserts Around Town

Easter's as good a time as any to indulge. And while some will choose to spend their calories on a leg of lamb or a big spiral ham, D.C. restaurants have plenty of options to tempt those with a sweet tooth. Whether it be fried Cadbury eggs, bacon ice cream bars, PeepTarts or decadent plays on French toast, dessert is hardly neglected on area Easter menus.

Where to Find Great Pitchers & Punch Bowls this Spring

Whether it's by the pitcher or by the punch bowl, bar programs in DC are loading up on cocktails this spring by offering booze in bulk.

Here are several bars and restaurants where cocktails are served for small groups. There are martinis by the pitcher, brandy-port flavored sangrias, and a tiki-themed rum bowl that comes served with a flaming sidecar of grain alcohol. It all adds up to...

Eater's Guide to Winter Salads That Don't Suck

Green isn't exactly the color of winter. And greens aren't exactly the food of the coldest season of the year. That doesn't mean, though, that salads are off limits as the temperature drops and snow falls (or sticks around on sidewalks). Winter salads are finding a place on the menus of restaurants this time of year along with stews and gratins. Often heartier and more robust than their spring...

Hidden Gems Where Bartenders Like to Drink

Eater convinced 10 bartenders in the city to disclose their go-to gems when sitting on the other side of the bar. These are the places that sometimes don't get much press, and yet, impress some of the prime pourers around town. Their picks might surprise you; Minibar's Juan Coronado gives Showtime the Coolest Wallpaper Award, while The Passenger's Alexandra Bookless loves Rappahannock Oyster...

Lincoln is a great bar and restaurant located in Downtown DC. The theme revolves around the great President Lincoln, hence the name. All dishes have a southern flare and all cocktails are historically themed, such as The Gettysburg Address and the Mason Dixon Manhattan. The floors are lined with embedded pennies, and the charm of the restaurant is not to be missed. Pictures of President Lincoln...

Very nice restaurant specializing in small plates. I went with a group and tried a variety of different plates and though they were all pretty good. I especially liked the North Carolina Trout. I would definitely go back.

Cool restaurant with a floor made of pennies. Came here for lunch and had the crab grilled cheese. It was as tasty as it sounds, piled high. They have house made seasonal lemonade (I got the strawberry ginger) - small glass but good. The berry crumble for dessert was awesome.

Great, now, fun

This is one of the best places in town, very New York. Food really good and interesting, atmosphere very now and creative. Small plates great idea, who wants 25 bites of the same thing. Really great drinks. The minute you hit the door you feel alive. kale
