LearningRx specializes in identifying and correcting the underlying cognitive skill deficiencies that keep kids from achieving their full potential in school, business or life. It's not a tutoring program, but rather a one-on-one brain training program that corrects the underlying causes of learning, reading and behavior difficulties. Through intense one-on-one sessions, we actually "re-wire" the brain and can dramatically improve short and long-term memory, attention, auditory and visual processing, reasoning, logic and processing speed. Often, children with deficiencies in one or more of these underlying mental skills fall behind in school, which can lead to low self esteem, lack of motivation and effort, and behavior problems. We don't re-teach academic subject matter that the student simply did not learn the first time. But rather, we "cultivate the soil" to make students more capable of processing information, discriminating sound, retaining information and focusing on the task at hand. The thing is, if a student has an underlying cognitive deficiency no amount of tutoring or re-teaching will help them in the long term. Once these underlying mental skills are strengthened, however, students find tasks that were once difficult become much easier. We see average gains in IQ of 15 -18 points, in only 24 weeks of training.
