Le Central Restaurant Review

This simple but authentic French country restaurant has a daily changing menu that's a bargain, especially compared to the airfare to Paris. The bouillabaisse, lapin (rabbit), poitrine de poulet (stuffed chicken breast) and canard (grilled duck) are all dependable, but Le Central is best known for its seemingly endless bowls of steamed mussels, of which there are ten different preparations, all...

Seven blocks south of the Colorado State Capitol, Le Central is a romantic restaurant that since 1981 has prided itself on creating French dishes that are both top quality and affordable. Housed in an aged urban structure with a distinctive European vibe, the restaurant changes its menus daily, but you can always expect to find a selection of fresh chicken, pork, beef, lamb, and seafood....

French restaurant phobic? Don’t be. At Le Central, you’ll never be shunned for your bad pronunciation. Laze around in a bucolic Provence interior that bustles and pops with first dates, empty-nesters, and wine-obsessed Francophiles. Crack open a bucket of mussels or pick at a plate of tapas-style starters. You may actually have some francs left over for some excellent wine or a Thursday-night...

The delicate balance and exquisite sauces of French cuisine are now available for consumption by the masses.

The atmosphere was so charming but the tables need to be replaced, stat. Our table top had large holes in the top, all filled with dirt and crumbs. Overall, we loved the food. The escargot en brioche was phenomenal! Maybe the best escargot I've had in years. The charcuterie was fresh and fun. We loved the lobster, it was fresh, tender and sweet. But the mussels were awful, they were so tough...

Came here on vacation to see my daughters great grandparents and they took us here. The food was delicious, portion sizes large, and low prices for the menu items! I definitely will be back.

The decor and atmosphere are great. Went there for brunch, the mussels and baked brie were fantastic. The main course of brunch was just okay for me. I will definitely try this place again, looking forward to trying the dinner menu.

What to Drink

The policy of affordable French doesn't stop with the food. Most wines are easy on the pocketbook but have a very expensive taste.
