L'Aroma Cafe & Bakery

A “great alternative to the big coffee chains”, these Italian bakery/cafes in the Back Bay and Newton offer “delicious” “gourmet” sandwiches, salads, wraps and baked goods; the “relaxed”, “cozy” settings feature “service with a smile” (and “terrific attention to those with allergies”), but for some, that doesn’t make up for what they deem “overpriced” tabs.

Comfortable, well lit, good brewed coffee less than $2. Very reasonable pastries and breakfast. Upstairs for laptops. Free WiFi. No hassle. Lots of art. Goto for West Newton.

Service, food and drinks are all excellent. I agree with the other reviews that the food is high-end restaurant quality. The atmosphere is also great. The owners are really nice people. I love how much they support the community. It definitely feels at home. I live in Phoenix and travel to Boston often. This is always my #1 lunch spot.

Great coffee selection with a cozy environment. They offer low-fat, whole, skim, soy, and hazelnut milk. Wish they offered almond or coconut milk. Will definitely be back.
