What the community has to say about Lake Murray

Information about this business (1)

"Urban fishing" may seem like an oxymoron, yet Lake Murray offers fishing within the surprising scope of a large urban park. The lake is open all year with trout planted in winter so fish are in abundance throughout the year. Catfish may be caught during the summer, and bluegill during spring.premises.

It is 4 July and we went for a walk around the lake. There is a rule that dogs have to be 50 feet from the lake. We follow this rule. My big black lab is going crazy about the birds, ducks and...

I come here with my GF to walk our dog given that there's plenty to sniff and other friendly dogs for him to interact with. The scenery here is great; there's all sorts of wildlife (duck, geese,...

God, I love this place. I usually walk the path with a girlfriend. Exercise and chatting with a loved one is always therapeutic, but there's something extra special and refreshing about getting it...

Slice of nature in the midst of the suburbs

This is a great place to go on a walk, where you can get way from the rat race and just enjoy nature. It has many guests but is not obnoxiously crowded. I used to live up on the bluff where the apts. were. Itw as very nice. I don't fish so have not tried the lake itself.

A quick escape from the suburbs

This is not an alpine lake, but still a nice place to take the family for a picnic or to bicycle or skate on a dedicated trail. I wouldn't eat the fish from the lake but it is still a welcome rest from the suburbun sprawl. Bring your bike, skates, or dog.
