Help us make it rightChicago is getting two more of some of the finest coffee shops in the land. La Colombe, the Philadelphia-based high-end coffee roaster and cafe company which opened its latest Chicago location in the winter under the Damen Blue Line stop in Wicker Park, has two more in the works—in Logan Square and Andersonville.
This Philly-based roaster-cum-coffeehouse brews its blended and single-origin beans in Wicker Park and the West Loop, where caffeine cravers hang out amid hip industrial environs with a variety of seating options (but no WiFi). The focus is on the drip and blended coffee drinks (with latte art, of course), with a nod to noshers in the form of local baked goods, plus bottled cold-pressed coffee...
Waking up in the morning can be a tough task and if you're the type who needs a jolt to start the day, check out the Eater Chicago Coffee Heatmap. We've listed new shops opened in the last year or expansions of existing establishments. Don't suffer through any more bad cups of coffee and make your way over to one of these spots. They'll have just the right boast of energy to help get you...
Wicker Parkers and El commuters have a new artisan coffee option. La Colombe opened its newest cafe next to the Damen Blue Line stop in Wicker Park on Sunday, its second location in Chicago.
The new spot features individually brewed coffee selections with Steampunk machines, espresso, hot tea, pastries, and a small retail shelf with coffee and chocolate bars. Around 35 wooden seats are...
LOGAN SQUARE—For one day (June 30), Fat Rice is taking reservations. For the fifth time, extending back to the years when Abraham Conlon and Adrienne Lo ran the underground dining club X-Marx, they're holding a day-long series in conjunction with Perman Wine Selections celebrating the Spanish white wine Txakolina. Each seating is $55 and includes pintxos and petiscos. [EaterWire]
WICKER...
This is my favorite coffee house in Chicago (or any other city that has a La Colombe)! There are a lot of different coffee options and brewing methods, its great, but the quality is what keeps me coming back. Even the basic blends are very good, and if you feel like splurging on a rare bean then you can do...
Best coffee in the west loop a stone throw away from my apartment!
Thankfully! Unfortunately there is one right across the road but you have to be insane or just have a gift card if you didn't go to La Colombe. Strong brews, great variety.
Good coffee and tea, but very pretentious and no WiFi.... Sorry but not my cup of tea (pun intended)
Another third wave coffee roaster and brewer, Colombe does a good job. The baked good selection was sparse by mid afternoon, but I suppose that is to be expected.
On par with Big Shoulders or Inteligentsia.
Since 2011 the company has been providing Retail - Coffee Shop.
