The food may be great, but the service sucked. Took over 25 min and yet we had to call the server over to take our order. If you have the time to wait, then this place is for you.

First ... the ambiance is very good ... the service is pretty good ... and the food is very tasty. Some of the dishes are truly Japanese recipes ... the sushi is very good, although most, like many of the sushi rolls are American inventions ... FYI, using salmon in sushi is a California invention; it didn't take hold in...

Fresh sushi, my favorite

This is my favorite spot for sushi. They have a combination menu for sushi that makes it more affordable. I believe our combo sushi meal came with had 6 diff. rolls for about $50. They have other options too. Their sushi is always fresh and you can tell.
I wouldn't go here for the teriyaki because you can get that...

Gret sushi

They gave me a miso soup as soon as I sat down. Love that. I ordered the Tacoma roll and Lakewood roll. Both were delicious. One of them had a honey - mustard type sauce drizzled over...it was the better roll. The other one was a little too sweet and had chicken teriyaki inside. Can't remember which one was which....

Business description (2)

"Considered one of the top Sushi bars within a short distance from downtown. Diners rave about the grilled Saba, as well as their wide variety of sushi and sashimi platters."

Kyoto Japanese Restaurant offers authentic Japanese food, along with beer, wine, whiskey and hot and cold sake. There is a beautiful Koi fish pond and many other interesting items to look at while sitting in the dining room or the privacy of a Tatami Room. You can get sushi specials at lunch and reservations are accepted.
