THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Klay Oven Restaurant Review

Of all the Indian restaurants in Chicago, this is among the most luxuriously appointed. The menu concentrates on the more well-known and popular Indian dishes, but the kitchen obviously knows how to flavor the food. They also make first-rate breads, a solid mulligatawny and seemingly endless tandoori dishes (we suggest the lemon-marinated lamb). The menu also features an array of stir-fried...

Solid Indian Food

I came across this little restaurant on the way to the Frank Lloyd Wright House. Simple lunch buffet with a wide variety to choose from, including vegetable, lamb, and chicken. The food was tasty. The rice pudding however lacked some flavor and was lumpy. The service wasn't quite take it or leave it, just reserved. Overall, I liked the place,...

I adore Indian Food. These guys would be right up the street from my hotel. But the locals say they lost their lease and are looking for a new place. So this is just a warning that they simply don't exist right now.

Good Indian Food (Oak Park Location

My wife and I ate at Klay Oven in Oak Park for several meals over the past two years. Klay Oven serves tasty, delicious Indian food. We often go for either the lunch special or lunch buffet. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is attentive. I would recommend a visit to Klay Oven for savory Indian food.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is elegant. It provides a quiet,
serene environment to enjoy the cuisine. I've eaten at this
restaurant approximately 5 times, and done take-out approx. 5 times.
The food is good, but a little pricey. The service has varied from
excellent to extremely slow. It appears the restaurant has had
several owners over the past 3 years and the service reflects that....

Business description (2)

Klay Oven features freshly cooked food prepared to order using healthy, low fat methods of virtually greaseless cooking in the centuries of old Clay Oven and the Indian Wok in an elegant yet informal environment.

This upscale Indian restaurant features tandoori (clay oven) and Karahi (Indian wok) items prepared with only the freshest ingredients. Tandoori murg, a half-chicken marinated in yogurt and spices, is the house specialty. In addition to meat and poultry, numerous vegetarian options are available. Curry, of course, is omnipresent. The subdued interior — gauze drapery partitions, Indian art,...
