this is a no frills Viet Namese restaurant that is very clean with great waitresses who will help you order and generally not let you over order. We generally eat family style at this place.

Fast service, good prices, great flavor. My wife and I ate at this restaurant for lunch three times during a one week period in April 2016.

There are many reasons not to go to Kim Son, particularly if you're a tourist. Getting there requires a commute across the river from New Orleans and even then, the place is a little hard to find; it's shabby; it closes ridiculously early (8:30); service is rarely friendly (but almost always efficient); the wine is awful. This is a very good Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant with many authentic options on the menu. The whole steamed fish was excellent. And all the dinners we chose were very good. Not a fancy place but the service and food was very good. The staff is very nice. Don't be put off by the "gentleman's club" next door.
