This is a beautiful park but due to the budget woes of Illinois it has really become run down and needs a lot of maintenance. If you like to camp it is ok but it is really nothing special.

I have been visiting the park for many years.
This is a prime example of nature reclaiming it's self. Once a strip mined waste land, left to its own a beautiful area has been carefully sculpted into this park.
Many places to wonder and just drive around in.
