So, he's got his own store in the clinic. I understand that private practices need to make money other ways besides insurance companies - I worked in a private practice before. But NONE of the options he recommended were options that my insurance would cover. His first recommendation was for a $500 laser procedure that would be just as effective as a pill, but he said he does not prescribe the pills anymore because they have "possible" side effects like kidney damage. ANY medication will give you kidney damage if you take more than you're supposed to, and I didn't take him as the type of doctor who would prescribe more than the necessary amount. My point, NO I'M NOT COMING OUT OF POCKET $500 FOR A PROCEDURE MY INSURANCE DOESN'T COVER WHEN YOU COULD EASILY PRESCRIBE ME SOMETHING JUST AS EFFECTIVE THAT MY INSURANCE WILL COVER.
In fact he TOLD me that the prescription I needed would most likely not be covered by my insurance and would cost about $200, whereas HIS other products would only be $36/each. Well, I pay for insurance for a reason. There was no reason for me to come out of pocket for anything. So I didn't. I told the receptionist to wait before scheduling a follow up appointment until his assistant came back from Dr. Sunshein with a prescription for what will help my problem. I got that prescription. I didn't cost me a DIME. And I can already see it start to work.
So by all means, sell your stuff if it works. I'm glad it works. I'm glad for you that it sells. But don't you EVER think of me as so stupid that I'd buy something simply because I'm scared my insurance might not pay for an alternative that doesn't make you any more money out of me. I know what my insurance covers and what it doesn't. And I'm sorry they probably don't pay you as much as you'd like, but find a way to MARKET your products. Don't push them on people who don't want them. I will most definitely be going somewhere else.
In my opinion from several visits Dr Sunshein is a good sales person for his products and will keep you returning for more office calls so be ready for excuses that he can not affectively correct your medical issues. What a joke and very painful waste of time
I went to Dr Sunshein after getting 4 opinions all other doctors wanted to put me in a brace or surgery. The brace was not working and hard to use. Dr Sunshein said I can help you and he did. He has a new method he uses arch supports and adjusts them every month or so. I was in lots of pain so much pain I could not sleep or walk now after 1 yr treatments I am pain free and hope to take my...
I had read some other reviews about long wait times, but decided to take a gamble anyway due to other positive comments, and I'm glad that I went. The wait time was short for me (about 15 minutes). Dr. Sunshein was able to answer my questions satisfactorily and also provided me with additional insight into my feet that I did not even inquire about. I was quite pleased with the visit and was...
I have twice been a patient of Dr. Sunshein. In the first instance he helped me with plantar fasciitis when others could not. I am currently seeing him for a new treatment for nerve damage called Neurogenix. It has changed my life!! Dr. Sunshein is a progressive doctor who is way more interested in the "basic level" of "standard of care". He is passionate about learning every new development...
The best decision I every made was getting Orthopaedic inserts, I admit I was apprehensive at first but Dr Sunshein told me from the beginning he could get my feet better and I am so glad I listened and read the articles and watched the videos. I feel 110 percent better. His staff is also very caring and professional, I have referred many of my friends to his office BEST PODIATRIST EVER ??
