I've eaten at this diner a couple of times and the food here is not what it's reputation says it is. I usually have the chicken friend steak, ( just ok but not that special), mashed potatoes (very good), baked squash (good), carrots (good) and rolls. This is one of my favorite places for breakfast. Very very casual and good home cooking. Always crowded at breakfast time. Eggs are consistently cooked the way you request and the toast is actually toasted unlike many places that looks like they just take bread out of the sack and put on your plate.
There was nothing too special about this joint. I appreciate diners that have been around for a long time, but the food needs to be good. I had the meatloaf, salad, broccoli and coleslaw. Meatloaf was dry and the gravy on top was watery. Salad was floating in dressing, broccoli was steamed well but nothing on it (salt, pepper, butter)...

This diner gets kudos from Kent Rathbun in Chef’s Night Out. Chicken-fried steak is nothing to rave about, but it's a decent “meat and three” for the money.
