Have eaten here occasionally (a bit pricey for me) since I moved to Alameda thirty years ago. The owner, Faith, keeps a clean and friendly restaurant. She's an Alameda original and an Alameda tradition.

Kamakura is one of those restaurants I go to every time I am in the SF Bay Area. I'm lucky as my Mum lives in Alameda, so this is usually a stop at least twice whilst I'm there. The food is excellent, every single time. The maki is the best I've ever had and service is spot on.
