Serving the cuisine of Afghanistan s capital city, Kabul is a unique gem Seattle s Wallingford neighborhood. As owner Wali Khairzada explains it, the ancient city of Kabul lay at the crossroads of trade between India and Central Asia, where for centuries, merchants, conquerors and explorers passed through, leaving their cultural influences behind, along with the finest delicacies from across...

Kabul restaurant is special and not just because there aren't a lot of authentic Afghan restaurants in Seattle, but also because the Afghani owners do the cuisine so well. Pasta in a Yogurt-Garlic Sauce, Basmati Rice topped with Spinach in a Lamb Sauce and Sauteed Eggplant are samples of the menu. Kebabs of beef, chicken and lamb are popular as well and there are also a number of vegetarian...

Kabul Restaurant Review

Inviting aromas and the sounds of sitar (often live) greet diners at this delightful storefront restaurant from owner Wali Khairzada. Afghan food is richly seasoned with freshly ground spices --- discover the cuisine with ash (soup flavored with dill, mint and turmeric), bolani (turnovers stuffed with potato and cilantro), lamb stew, and eggplant topped with ground beef. There are also good...

This Wallingford landmark serves authentic Afghani dishes culled from the owner's family recipes and influenced by the cuisines of India, China, and Greece. Before dinner try the ash, a traditional soup filled with noodles, yogurt, kidney beans and chickpeas. Ashak (fresh pasta filled with leeks and served with yogurt-garlic sauce) and the rack of lamb (marinated in garlic, coriander seeds,...

Indian and Mediterranean-influenced cuisine of Afghanistan is showcased beautifully at Seattle's only Afghan restaurant.

Suffices to say, the most savory restaurant in Seattle. I know it sounds lame to compare different types of restaurants, but the flavors and spices they use are just fantastic... You will want the...

Seriously delicious. We got the combination plate for two with lamb and chicken and everything was amazing. Only docking a point because I think the price is a little expensive. We had a groupon...

came here for dinner and ordered the Combination Kebab for Two.  The ash soup was amazing, could have had a huge bowl of it by itself.  The kebabs were cooked to perfection, the chicken and beef were tender and seasoned perfectly.  A must to visit if in the neighborhood.  I didn't feel the portions were too small, and I think I got good value for what I paid

Meal was delicous. I enjoyed my entree of Badenjan Borani (sauteed eggplant) - it was really well done. However, $19 seemed a bit steep and the portion was not very large, so not sure if we'll be back.

This unique culinary treasure beckons diners with exotic aromas and delicious Middle Eastern fare. Indeed, a warm, friendly scene awaits, complete with eager servers, photos of the Afghan countryside, and live sitar music. Hints of cumin, saffron, and garlic preface dishes like spiced lamb, chicken, and eggplant. Candle-lit tables and an international wine list complete the effect.
