Phenomenal Coffee Roaster and Caffe

I read an article about Michael, the owner of K-bay Coffee in the Anchorage Daily News a few months ago and was totally inspired by his unrelenting pursuit of Mastery as a barrista and a coffee roaster. So when we took a trip to Homer, he was top on our list to visit. When I asked folks we met in Homer about Michael and K-bay coffee, I would get replies, like: "...He's a wizard..." "I don't know how he does it.." "I don't even like espresso drinks, but what he made was completly amazing..." When we arrived at K-bay, one of the best coffee shops in Anchorage was having their entire staff trained by Michael for the weekend. After tasting the espresso pictured in my review, I know why. The distinctive balance of flavors, the smooth creamy texture and the absolute beauty of the espresso was a totally complete experience. This drink was simply exquisite in every sense of the word. It is absolutely refreshing and inspiring to meet a person who has broken away from the tidal wave of mediocrity to push into the highest possibilities of true craftsmanship!
