Glenview's very own west bank retreat, conveniently located next to (and owned by) Abt Electronics superstore.

In Short
Weary home theater shoppers and those with kitchen envy swarm this pleasant strip mall cafe. The look is century-old wood-paneled library--except it's all spanking new and still...

Went in with my family after playing at the park next door, to grab some coffee. I didn't realize how much they offered. We stayed for dinner and I can say this was a fantastic experience. The food was fresh and very delicious. I had the whitefish and it was beyond my expectations. My children loved the mac n cheese. We had so much food, we had leftovers for the next day. They even gave the kids a free ice cream cone.

Great food, happy family. Will definately return!

Pros

+ Great service. Big wine selection. Quality food.

Cons

- Didn't know about this place before.

""This glorified Denny's clone calls itself a wine bar! Too brightly lit, too cheaply decorated! Oh, and...no apperitifs, no digestifs, no cheese plate, oh, and... NO BAR! ... hmmm anyone else dubious?

If not, let's talk about the carpaccio! $12 for five pieces of seared tuna bites with burnt pesto on top... the chef then has the audacity to tell me that ""carpaccio "" means how it is cooked, not how it is cut! WHAT?! You don't cook carpaccio!!!!

So, I did some research...according to all sources, including my Italian family, cooking instructor in Paris @ the Cordon Bleu and La...

In ShortWeary home theater shoppers and those with kitchen envy swarm this pleasant strip mall cafe. The look is century-old wood-paneled library--except it's all spanking new and still shiny. Attentive servers bring hot tea, coffee drinks, fresh juices and wine on blindingly bright silver trays before explaining the tempting array of classic sandwiches, hot entrees and refreshing salads. Business description (1)

Jolane’s Café is a restaurant in the Abt Design Center reminiscent of a European café. We serve lunch and dinner with a European flair. North Shore Magazine calls Jolane’s “An ideal option for budget conscious diners.” We have incredible café options like Julius Meinl coffee and pastries. Dining options range from delicious Tuscan Chicken to Cedar Plank Salmon

Tips about this business (10) view all

Know Before You Go: Despite the "do-lunch" atmosphere and light fare, Jolane's pulls quite the dinner crowd. Reservations can stack up come weekends, especially if the weather is right.

The Extras: Wine events take place regularly, like half price bottle night, discounted glasses and tastes and social tastings. Call for the schedule.

What to Drink: You'll be tempted by the wine selection--and rightly so as there is a sizable selection--but if it's the AM and you can't justify a full glass, opt for a mimosa, or better yet, a flute of bubbly-spiked pear juice.

Parking: Copious and free. The suburbs lick the city in that respect.

Where to Sit: Any of the cushy booths will do just fine, but if it's nice out think about the patio. It's quite pleasant despite the interstate that runs behind the store.
