Joey K’s Restaurant & Bar Restaurant Review

Situated on one of the busiest blocks of bustling Magazine Street, Joey K’s is that little neighborhood joint that never changes, and that’s just the way the locals like it. For some New Orleanians, the place evokes the days when many a corner was occupied by the same kind of low-priced, family-style restaurant. Picture the tiny bar right in the dining room, complete with beer taps, a...

A trip to Joey K's for lunch or dinner is something like eating in your own kitchen. It's comfortable, accessible, and the portions are huge. Many options are so well priced, you'll get change back from a $20 bill, and that includes tax,…

Savvy visitors are hip to this corner hangout. Indeed, it was a tourist who told us to order the trout Tchoupitoulas, and boy, were we happy -- lovely pan-fried trout topped with grilled veggies and shrimp. Daily blackboard specials such as brisket, lamb shank, white beans with pork chops, and Creole jambalaya won't fail to please. Order it all to go, and you'll be dining like a real Uptown local.

Stayed in NOLA for a week and came here at the recommendation of our concierge. 4 of us ordered 4 different dinner entrees and each of them were delicious! Add two large beers and an appetizer and we walked out paying less than $60! Will definitely come back the next time we are in town!

This charming place was within walking distance of our hotel. We wanted to find a good local place since we usually only frequent the tourist places. We were not disappointed in this find. It is in the charming Uptown area on Magazine. It is a family style "meat and three" type restaurant, where the menu is simple and the food...

Good but not great

We've been meaning to try Joey k's for awhile. Stopped in for a Saturday night dinner. Being in Magazine St., we thought it'd be packed but several tables were open. There were only two waitresses servicing tables & both of them had attitudes. They worked at their own pace & acted like customers were an interruption. May be why the...

Stopped here for lunch in between stops on the hop-on-hop-off bus tour when looking for Lafayette Cemetery. It was St. Patty's Day so we had green beer and I had the salad with grilled chicken, my friend had a pasta dish. Everything was great and the portions were large. They offer outdoor seating too but it was a warm day...

The food and service are both very good. It's well-situated in the heart of the Garden District.
It's heavy on the fried food selections, but there's plenty else to eat if you're not looking for that.
Very child-friendly.

Joey K's is a neighborhood treasure, located on Magazine Street in the Garden District of New Orleans.
