Jimmy John Liautaud started his first sandwich shop in Charleston, Ill., in 1983. After mastering his bread recipe, he garnered a fan base through low prices and delivery...
Summary: I'd rather eat my own foot than ever order here. Ever.
I've ordered Jimmy John's twice: the first time, I ordered an Unwich (sandwich wrapped in lettuce instead of bread). They put mayo on in when I specifically asked for it without, they were really stingy with the toppings, and the lettuce was wilted. I really like the Jimmy John's back in my hometown, though, so I figured it was a fluke and ordered again.
The second time was a mess. I missed the call when the driver phoned the first time, so I called the restaurant and they said the driver would come back with my order....
BEWARE of Jimmy John's on 738 Ninth Street. Ran into two problems with them:
1. They charged my food points account twice for a single transaction. Called them twice for this issue, first time was told to call back, and the second time was dismissed and told to wait for the transaction to be overturned. 9 days later, still nothing back.
2. One of their sandwiches seemed rotten to me. It had a putrid smell and tasted bad. I think it was from the cheese. I called them and explained my situation, they put me on hold then hung up.
Keep these in mind before ordering.
Pros
+ Can sometimes...
I love a Jimmy John's sandwich, but I was very disappointed when I got home, unwrapped my sub and found only a couple slices of turkey, some mayo and one slice of tomato!
I suspect that the sandwich maker was mad at me because I didn't enter a tip on the tip line - so he paid me back with not giving me what I asked for. I have no problem tipping waiters and waitresses because they make less than minimum wage... Jimmy John's employees, however, make minimum wage meaning that their salaries don't rely on tips - and it's not like he delivered it or anything.
So, I took the sandwich back...
Can't get enough? Jimmy John's sells day-old bread to aid in your own sub creation.
