First of all, it's really nice that Java is right off the max line. It makes it easily accessible for someone like me... a poor college student, always taking public transportation.

When you walk into Java Nation, you're immediately greeted by the sweet aroma of coffee. It's got a laid back cozy feel to the shop. All the people who work there are friendly, attentive, and will patiently wait for you to order. They really care about the quality of their food, beverages, and service. For me, it's all about the coffee, and these guys always get it right. They take all the extra care in pulling espresso shots, steaming milk, etc. to make each drink a pleasure to enjoy. Nobody I know (on the west side of Portland at least) comes close. Don't expect to get your drink right away - these things take time.

I love Java Nation!! This is my favorite place to get coffee.

Java Nation is basically Coffee People with a different name. I live in SW Portland and drive to Beaverton about once a week just to get coffee here. I used to get coffee here all the time when I worked in Beaverton. I've never tried their food/pastries but their coffee is excellent.

They are not pretentious as many coffee shops are. Baristas are friendly and the environment is very comfortable and relaxing. Baristas remember you after a few visits. You should check out the murals on the walls.
