I sought out this downtown grill based on the high TripAdvisor ratings I kept seeing, ignoring my brother's warning about the poor quality & greasiness (he lives in Morganton).
Well, the first bite or two was not bad, but *everything* was just so horribly greasy (I had a burger and fries).

This restaurant has great burgers and hotdogs. Fries too! Food is cooked to order and always fresh! Enjoy bringing my grandson here, so much better than fast food!

Local ownership, good fresh burger make this a solid alternative to drive-thru! Plenty of parking on street of in rear.

If you want a great burger made just for you with toppings of your choice, awesome fries and a shake then you can't beat Jake's. This was my third visit and I am always satisfied when I leave. It is not a fancy place, but the burgers and shakes are awesome. After eating burgers with the kids at fast food...

Decent food for a decent price

$5 gets you a basic single patty cheeseburger with fries and a drink - good price but not super high quality. They do have lots of additional toppings that you can add for not too much more $. They do have a party room and really clean restrooms!
