I've been going to Iwata since they first opened and the quality hasn't changed a bit. Always Delicious, Always Great Service.
I don't get there as much as I did when I lived in Sherman Oaks but when my sister and I sit down to discuss our business, Iwata's our spot.

I hate to even get the word out... because right now I never have to wait for the sushi bar! BUT.. honestly, I've eaten sushi all over this town and the fish at Iwata is consistently the freshest, most flavorful of any restaurant in LA. Get to know the chefs.. they are a quite interesting group.
If you love great sushi and cant afford to eat at the $$$$ restaurants every day, Iwata is the next best thing. With choices like yellowtail belly, spicy tuna stuffed jalapenos, albacore tempura and spicy tuna on toast (my personal favorite), they are more of a traditional sushi restaurant, but with a twist. Parking can be difficult though, so get there early and shoot for a meter.
I was first introduced to Iwata back in December and I cannot tell you how much I crave to go to this restaurant. To make it clear how much I love this restaurant I have been there twice in the past week...well past 5 days. LOL

Let's start with the fact that I have been eating at iWata for 13 years. iWata was the place where I started eating sushi and I believe I will be taking my kids there one day. Iwata isn't the place you go for a romantic meal, iWata is where you go if you want amazingly well prepared fresh fish at a very reasonable price. Shuga (spelling is off im sure) is very picky about the fish he uses...

It offers sushi and sashimi to eat, in several forms. They are located at the front of an outdoor shopping center, that is hard to find parking for. They opened in 1996. No cell phones are allowed to be used inside. There are 7 tables and 16 seats at the sushi bar. The servers were humble and eager to please the patrons.
