Guests are "pleasantly surprised" by the "well-prepared" prix fixe dinners with "well-chosen" wines at this "deep-blue" New American near the Civic Center; it's smoothly run and "less expensive" than some other pre-show options, and while perhaps "not outstanding", usually "quite acceptable."
Indigo, a prime pre-theater dinner spot, hits the right notes with an unpretentious, airy, blue-toned dining room and a pre-theater fixed-price menu. Expect simple new American cuisine with lots of local, seasonal ingredients. Try the baby spinach salad with spiced walnuts and artisan goat cheese. Sweet corn stars in a risotto flavored with lemon thyme, pecorino cheese and baby zucchini....

Tucked away in the basement of Indigo, this subterranean lounge offers a plush red- and gold-lit contrast to the industrial blues of the restaurant above. Available...
We've been Indigo regulars for years. Often going before the opera. This last time, the restaurant seemed tired. Little things like the walls on the way to the bathroom looking dinged up and the door behind the bathroom door handle being dirty made it just feel like the restaurant didn't care anymore. The salmon was delicious as always But, the salad didn't have the nuts that were promised on...
Indigo delivers good food for good price with good fast service. Perfect before symphony, ballet or opera.
Considering that, because of weather, one guy had to take care of all tables while also working behind the bar, service was pretty impressive! Nevertheless, you guys still have not yet really gotten your pasta dishes right. A friend told me that they had improved, but she was clearly less discriminating than I tend to be. I should probably stick to your Ahi Tuna appetizer.
I wanted to try this restaurant after seeing it on Check Please. First, the menu is different online than actually in the restaurant. Some of the items have not been served in over a year. They ran out of the Corvina bass after only being open 1 1/2 hrs and instead of the New York steak on the menu they had beef medallions. My friend and I settled on the prie fixe pork tenderloin. She had the...
My daughters and I had dinner prior to the Symphony. We arrived prior to our reservation time but were quickly seated. We ordered from the Prix Fixe menu of Pan roasted pork loin and the chicken breast. The food was wonderful and the plating was gorgeous. The butternut squash soup was the best I have ever had. This is definitely a place we will return to.

The Extras: Indigo's Wine Cellar is right next door -- if you're planning a special event, consider arranging for a private dinner in the Cellar with just a few friends, then moving to the Crimson Lounge to accommodate more people and some late-night partying.
Know Before You Go: This lounge is available exclusively for private parties for a nightly rental fee and minimum register ring. Owners recommend a party size of 50-75 people. Food orders must be placed at least seven days in advance.
The downstairs Crismon Lounge is available for private parties.
Servers are trained and knowledgeable about wine so don't be afraid to trust their recommendations.
Wines, almost exclusively from California, range in price from reasonable ($6.25/glass) to ridiculous ($775/bottle). If you want more than a glass but not quite a bottle, Indigo offers a wide variety of half-bottles.
