There are much better choices in town. They skip on the more expensive ingredients like the handmade cottage cheese is missing from the spinach paneer that is just creamed spinach, there was no lamb or goat to be seen and the chicken was cooked to death. The popular vermicelli desert was simply made with rice which is much more starchy....
I have eaten better Indian food outside of America, but this is as good as any I have eaten in the States. They have a good selection of restaurant standards on the buffet, especially on the weekend, and they do not shy away from meat. The price is very reasonable, and the service is good.
Happened into the Star of India as it filled up for lunch (medium to small dining room), had a craving for a biryiani, which was not on the buffet line. The buffet looked very appealing, just had a craving. The chef offered to make me a biryiani. I had expressed some caution at the range of heat in the usual...
there are more choices elsewhere. Buffet doesn't offer too much.
After eating in many Indian places, I don't like the taste of the food here. I rather prefer driving. There are always buffet, food were not that tasty.
