Help us make it rightNestled on the bottom floor of a XIX Century Brownstone in the heart of Fort Greene, ICI opened its doors in 2004 as one of the first Farm to Table restaurant in Brooklyn. ICI's cuisine is generous, elegant and contemporary while being rooted in the tradition of timeless French Country Cuisine, respecting seasons, using local & beautiful products & respecting the people who have produced it....
ICI means “here” in French. For our purposes, “here” is Brooklyn, New York via the South of France–the once-home of ICI owne...r Catherine May Saillard. Our mission is simple: we serve delicious food produced locally in the most ethical & sustainable way. Nested in a 19th century brownstone, ICI’s main dining room opens into a gorgeous patio, while the 2nd floor ( the parlor) is reserved for...
It's almost deceptively simple: iCi is in the business of feeding people, and so they've created a place for people to come to eat, without the room-stealing accoutrements of an establishment looking to full its menu with aesthetic appeal. Charm is the key word here, and iCi has beaucoup, with a mixture of traditional American cuisine and fine French bistro fare. Allons-y!
Laurent Saillard -- former general manager at Rocco's and veteran of reality TV show The Restaurant -- traded in the spotlight for a low-key French bistro. Interior is soft and sweet, thanks to white brick walls, fresh flowers, marble fireplace. Frenchies chitchat in the outdoor space, furnished in white cast iron. Simple menu derived from seasonal and local ingredients. Roasted chicken with...
Fort Greene's abundance of 19th century brownstones and French expats can lend it a decidedly European feel. This haute bistro certainly plays a role as well, with its spare, whitewashed interior, heavily accented waiters, and good rosé selection. When Ici's menu quotes Alice Waters, it's not just lip service: Owners Laurent and Catherine Saillard are keen on using fresh, naturally grown...
In Short
The soothing, leafy backyard garden and main dining room with white-washed brick walls provide the perfect backdrop for this unpretentious addition to the neighborhood. Manhattan...
I was in town visiting from Chicago and wanted to hit some local joints. ICI fit the bill. I'm sure I was the only tourist in the place, so it is definitely local. Above average food all the way around. Atmosphere doesn't bring anything special to the table. I happened to be there on the coldest day of the year in NYC and ICI was feeling that pain, but it probably only happens a day or 2 per...
I do think this is a neighborhood gem. It's a surprise to me that ICI is never crowded and I can always get a seat. It's one the best dining options in our neighborhood and the service is always great.
Great gem, walking distance from the BAM.
A great place for French Country kitchen cuisine. I love the food here. The space is cosy and simple, yet elegant. The wine choices are fantastic. It's a must.
My fiancé and I had dinner here with another couple who are "slow food" fanatics. I'm still not entirely sure what slow food is, but eating at iCi was a great introduction to the movement. Everything we put in our mouths was absolutely delicious. The

The seasonal farm-to-table fare at this "casual" Franco–New American is "delicious, creative" and well priced, making it a "staple" of Fort Greene; the "charming", "quiet" environment includes a warm-weather garden, while the "knowledgeable", "down-to-earth staff" and "great brunch" also please.
iCi Restaurant focuses on three words: Fresh, seasonal and local. Its menu is simple yet elegant, using the best ingredients rather than creating a complicated dish. It has an upstairs private dining room that is great for weddings and other celebrations.
