Like a "little bit of Florence" in the West Village, this "small" Italian supplies "generously sized" portions of "first-tier" Tuscan fare lubricated by a "substantial wine list" and signature Negronis; "charming" service makes the "tight squeeze" seem delightfully "intimate", even "romantic."

In a city of what seems like a million Italian restaurants, this minimalist-designed Tuscan-focused eatery in the West Village is a real find. Spikey-haired owner, Rita Sodi, a Florentine who formerly worked in the fashion industry, ensures the traditional fare coming from the kitchen is satisfying. The menu changes weekly based on seasonal ingredients but expect a bevy of pasta dishes topped...
In a city crammed with Italian restaurants, this West Village eatery seems to get overlooked, which is a shame. The brainchild of native Italian Rita Sodi (who once worked as a fashion executive) and artist Josh Dworkis (who designed the chic and modern space), I Sodi offers a regional, seasonally changing menu, thanks to veteran chef Michael Genardini, formerly of L'Impero and Alto. Think...
Rita Sodi trades in Calvin Klein exec duds for white tablecloths and tinted glass paneling, replacing hungry Italian models with full Italian menu. In homage to fashion shelf life, the chef revamps the entire menu weekly: salads, pastas, secondis, with seasonal ingredients guest-starring every Monday. Salame dolce (graham cracker-infused Italian brownie) for couture dessert. Insalata Dei Sodi...
Loved I Sodi for the food and service, but very small and everyone's packed-in. Luckily we scored a table by the window, where there's more breathing room. First off - it's impossible to get a reservation here. We lucked out by getting one, last minute, at 8:30. But still had to wait 20 minutes for our table. But we had a nice cocktail on the little bench in the entry way. Once seated, service...
We have been coming to I Sodi for years, it is our favorite place for a special night out! That being said it is also our favorite for the best food and most wonderful service! The restaurant is lovely and calm. Love it!!!
We were sat 45 minutes after our reservations. We were comped 2 cocktails. The Food was great But the service was very slow.
Got the fried artichoke special, the Cacio e Pepe, and a kind of meat sauce pasta. The meat sauce wasn't that special, but the other two dishes were. Our cocktails were also terrific.
The artichoke salad is amazing!

A seasonal menu of delectable Italian selections is offered at I Sodi.
Where to Sit: The passageway between the bar and tables is very narrow. Tables are more comfortable for a jostle-free meal.
What to Drink: Try the house specialty Negroni cocktail ($12).
