These "casual" Med standbys whip up "quality" hummus with a "special zing" along with a raft of other vegetarian options; despite "smallish" settings and "disorganized" service, they're an "affordable" "fast-food alternative", especially for those who need it "kosher."

Back in December, I was invited to check out Hummus Kitchen on the Upper East Side. I’m surprised I’ve never come across place before as 1) I love Mediterranean food, 2) it’s very vegetarian friendly, 3) there are four locations in Manhattan, and 4) there’s a great boozy brunch deal. Not well. An hour and a half went by and I still hadn't received my food. I called to tell the manager to refund my money and that I was not interested in waiting any longer for cold food. He proceeded to assure me it would be there soon, he was not understanding that I simply was not interested in the order any longer. He finally agreed to contact seemless to process a return. We will see...

Food came cold and almost an hour late. Disappointing but won't be ordering from here again. Eating in here is fine, but avoid for delivery. There are more reliable options until they get their act together.
