This Scottsdale hot-spot hotel was recently restored to its former '50s fabulousness, and the rooms don't disappoint with retro furnishings and styling. Originally opened in 1956, it was a hangout for celebrities, including Natalie Wood, Robert Wagner, and Tony Curtis. The main pool is one of the places to see and be seen in Scottsdale.

Hotel Valley Ho Hotel Review

While Hotel Valley Ho seems like it's getting in on the tail end of the turn-of-the-millennium retro motel trend, with its December 2005 opening, it is in fact a forerunner. This model of classic mid-century design---done in muted hipster tones of green, teal, yellow and orange---opened its doors in the 1950s to guests who included Humphrey Bogart and Marilyn Monroe. Jimmy Durante once played...

After years of vacancy (the estate was literally boarded up), the mid-century Hotel Valley Ho received more than just an architectural restoration by its new owners: It underwent a total 21st-century overhaul, resulting in free propertywide Wi-Fi, a full-service spa and fitness room, and two restaurants. (Choose between Cafe ZuZu, a comfort-food diner, and the legendary Trader Vic's, a...

This retro-inspired hotel is like a trip straight back to the 50s.

Short and Sweet Stay

Arrived approximately at 700pm. I was given the furthest room possible with a view of the parking lot, room was in the 500 building. I wasn't happy but the front desk was very accommodating and allowed my to change rooms closer to my friends that were in the main tower. My stay was very pleasant, there was construction across the way which was my balcony view on the first floor.

We had booked this only for a couple nights of our stay, but wished it was our home for a whole week. Cool retro 60's mid century modern motiff. From the staff at the front desk to the rooms, all top notch!

I would reco this hotel for it's location in relation to Old Town Scottsdale, and it's unique retro feel. Old Town with all of it's small shops and restaurants is right down the street and easily walkable. The outside of this hotel looks like somewhere you probably wouldn't pull into without prior knowledge of what cool vibes are held within....
